Stumbling Through

Jette is fourteen and is stuck in-between. Between moving boxes she's supposed to pack, and between her parents, who always stand too far away from each other whenever they meet. She would like to hold on tight to something, herself most of all. Instead, she stumbles – right into the middle of a summer that tastes of strawberries and awakening.

The author has a very special gift for observation and manages beautifully to capture the magic of transition from childhood into something different and new, despite such difficult subjects as family conflicts and separation, death and grief.

  • A new literary voice in YA books
  • Coming-of-age literature with a lot of space for nuance
