Benjamin Gottwald won several awards for his previous work Spider Plays Piano, among them are the German Youth Literature Award, the Bologna Ragazzi Award, the German-French Youth Literature Award (all in 2023, all in the category picture book). Spider Plays Piano is also on the IBBY Honour List 2024.
