Nele Palmtag initially studied occupational therapy before going on to study illustration in Bremen and Hamburg. She lives with her family in Hamburg and works as a freelance illustrator. She devises book concepts and illustrates her own ideas as well as texts by other authors. She enjoys giving workshops and readings for children and educators. Her books have been translated and won awards. Most recently, she was honoured by the Stiftung Buchkunst (Book Art Foundation) for ‘One of the Most Beautiful German Books’.
