Handling with personal Data
The publisher records personal data when initial contact is established. This includes the following information: Surname, first name, contact details such as address, telephone and/or fax numbers, e-mail address, occupation and other data serving the publishing purpose and the business relationship, such as, for example, secondary positions and volunteer work, prior professional stations if known, special accessibilities or individual working methods as well as professional interests.
In principle, the publisher will only process or use other information about the license interested parties if they are necessary to promote the publishing purpose and if there are no indications that the data subject has a legitimate interest that precludes their processing or use.
With the cooperation, the license interested party agrees that the personal data required by the publisher in connection with the activity is collected, processed and used by the publisher taking into account the current legal requirements. Without this consent, cooperation cannot be established.
Information on the personal data is provided by the above persons at: datenschutz(at)carlsen.de
The personal data provided are used exclusively for publishing purposes. These include, in particular, the administration of proof copy shipments as well as the processing work for the purpose of licensing intended by the publisher (e.g. sending printed or electronic proof copies and information such as press releases, mailings, information on events, communication, and invitations to events with the corresponding documentation by participation and attendance lists, etc.).
Any other processing or use (for example, conveyance to third parties) is - with the exception of the necessary disclosure in the sense of the publishing purpose - not permitted. In addition, exceptions to this are transfers to which the publisher is legally obliged (for example, as part of the employment relationship, etc.).
No processing or other use of the personal data provided is made outside of the internal processing rules under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Within the internal processing rules, the recipient categories mentioned above are involved in the processing of personal data, including Episerver, a newsletter distribution system that uses automated decision-makers (including profiling) for the purpose of the client's legitimate interests.
Personal information will only be stored and processed as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was obtained or to comply with legal requirements regarding reporting or retention of documents.
Each license interested party has the right to object to the processing of his/her personal data and to make use of the right to lodge a complaint to the supervisory authority.
License interested parties have the right of gratuitous access to their stored data as well as a right to the rectification, blocking, restriction of processing, data portability, or erasure of this data. Excepted from this are data whose rectification, blocking or erasure conflict with legal, statutory or contractual retention periods or which must be stored for billing purposes.
Employees of the publisher are obliged to comply with the privacy protection of personal data and receive regular training.
In order to protect against the loss of personal data, precautions have been taken in accordance with the GDPR insofar as this is technically and economically feasible and effective against unauthorized access, alteration, destruction or loss, unauthorized transfer or otherwise unlawful processing and other misuse.
There is no obligation on the part of the data subject to provide his data.
If the controller intends to process the personal data for a purpose other than that for which it was obtained, the controller shall provide the data subject with information about that other purpose and all other relevant information prior to such further processing.
Due to current circumstances, such as a change in the relevant data protection provisions, this privacy statement will be updated, if necessary.
